In a bid to add value to their TV packages, Cox Communications has decided to add 11 new channels to its existing cable television lineup. The cable MSO released an official statement, saying that this lineup expansion should provide “innovative, engaging and informative new content for its diverse customer base.”
The new channels will be available in their service territories in Orange County and Palos Verdes which are:
MoviePlex: Movies of all genres at any time of the day
IndiePlex: This channel features controversial and art house films such as “The Last Temptation of Christ” and “Pollack”
RetroPlex: The classic movie channel
Nat Geo Mundo: A new channel by National Geographic, targeting Spanish speakers in the U.S.
Utilisima: A 24 hour network channel dedicated to the Latina female audience
Cine Sony: A Spanish language channel where viewers can watch uncensored Hollywood movies, Latino TV series, and popular Latino singers and musicians
Encore Espanol: This channel features the top movies in the 80’s, 90’s, and today in Spanish.
CBeebies: An interactive channel for babies and toddlers
Baby TV: A commercial free channel that provides educational and developmental content for babies
In addition, the cable MSO has raised the monthly data-usage limits for their subscribers, while boosting connection speeds—starting with Arizona and Las Vegas.
“Cox has raised our bandwidth-usage allowances in all markets, and we’re increasing speeds throughout this year,” stated director of media relations Todd Smith. “We continually enhance our product capabilities to reflect the changing needs of our customers.”
